FuXion review – what you need to know

FuXion is a multilevel marketing company that provides health and wellness products that focus on the Spanish-speaking market.

FuXion sells products in several of the classic health and wellbeing MLM categories, including anti-aging supplements, weight management, and athletic performance enhancers.

Did I get on board? This explains everything:

Remember, we schedule 30 minutes for each call, so only schedule if you’re serious:

Their best-selling products are single use packets that you can use in a water bottle for an instant liquid supplement, meal replacement, or sports drink.

Because the company’s core market is the Hispanic community, it operates in most of Central and South America in addition to the United States.

Speaking Spanish, or at least having deep connections in the Hispanic community, would be practically essential for success as a FuXion distributor.

When it comes to popularity, FuXion is on the decline.  The company saw a steady increase in interest starting in 2013 and continuing until late 2015, but since then, search engine traffic has dropped precipitously.

Currently, the company is in the midst of another internet traffic downturn, with interest plunging to a third of what it was at the company’s peak.

Products

While FuXion checks all the standard health and wellness checkboxes—anti-aging, weight loss, athletic supplements, general well-being—the way in which they deliver their supplements is different.

Their main area of focus for many of their products is their single-use powder packs, which are the delivery method of choice for several of their flagship supplements.

In the nutraceuticals category, FuXion’s twin pairings of “On” and “Off” attempt to energize your body and mind (for the On drink) or provide calming and relaxation (the Off drink).  Both are instant single-use powders.

On consists of an amino acid blend, as well as B vitamins (a classic energy drink ingredient) and green tea extract.

Green tea extract is a known energy and metabolism-booster, and not just for its caffeine content.

According to a 1999 scientific paper published in the journal Trends in Food Science & Technology by researchers in Japan, green tea contains an amino acid called theanine that modulates the effects of caffeine, enhancing the positive effects and decreasing some of the negative effects of caffeine.

Off contains a similar blend of amino acids and B vitamins, but instead of green tea, it inclues a small amount of omega 3 fatty acids.

While omega 3 fatty acids, especially DHA, are known to have positive cognitive benefits, it’s unclear how much is actually included in the supplement.  Certainly it is far less than one gram, since the nutrition facts list its fat content at zero grams.

As for weight loss, FuXion markets a single use fiber drink as an appetite suppressant.  Liquid Fibra contains several vitamins and minerals, but the main ingredient is dietary fiber; one stick includes 20% of your recommended daily fiber intake.

Research by Mark A. Pereira and David S. Ludwig notes that increased fiber intake leads to increased satiety—the feeling of fullness after a meal—and may slow or even prevent your body from absorbing some of the calories in the food you eat.

Likely for these reasons, increased fiber intake is associated with lower rates of obesity across numerous studies.

In addition to the physical products offered by FuXion, the company also offers life coaching through its Leadership School.

This focuses on emotional health and well-being.  Reviews on this program are almost nonexistant, so it’s very difficult to evaluate its quality.

Many old-school pyramid schemes involved worthless “training programs” with exorbitantly high costs, so considering that legacy, there is definitely a buyer-beware element to any kind of intangible good sold by an MLM.

Compensation plan

Joining FuXion requires purchasing an enrollment kit for $30 and make an initial product order of at least 20 product volume (fairly low for MLMs).

Under the compensation plan, you are immediately eligable for a 20% wholesale discount.  Staying active as a distributor in FuXion is harder than other MLMs—you need to keep up 20 product volume sales every two weeks to remain active.

The commission structure is based on bonuses instead of flat percentages for each rank.  Moving up in the hierarchy, and moving more product, qualifies you for more sales volume based bonuses, so there isn’t a classic rank table with percentage commissions for each level and rank.

FuXion is a binary structure MLM, meaning you have a “left team” and a “right team” led by your two first-line distributors.

This encourages a more hierarchical structure than a unilevel MLM, so you’ll need a rock-solid business plan to recruit a lot of people in an organized fashion to have any hope of succeeding.

Recap

When reviewing FuXion’s products and compensation plan, you don’t get the impression that it is a legit company.

Their products are mediocre—they have some ingredients that are effective, but selling a product line whose core focus is single use powdered drink mixes seems like a tough proposition.

If you are fluent in Spanish and have good connections in the Hispanic community, you may have more luck recruiting people to your cause.  Otherwise, it’ll be a hard sell.

With a nontraditional compensation plan that focuses on a rigid binary structure, as well as sales volume based bonuses, you’ll need both a strong business model (in terms of rank and heirarchy) as well as an ability to consistently sell a lot of products on a consistent basis.

Remember, the active seller status updates every two weeks, not every month like in most other MLMs.  Unless you have a unique “hook” or ability that would let you plug in to the FuXion network in a good place, business-wise, it’s not your best option.

So if you’re set on MLM, it’s not terrible, but probably not the best, either.

If you’re doing it for the money, there are better ways to kill your day job. You might like our coaching because it shows you the good life without peddling overpriced products to your family and friends.
