LR Health and Beauty Systems review – is it legit?

LR Health and Beauty Systems is a German-based network marketing company that sells a combination of health supplements and cosmetic supplies.

The bestsellers among the cosmetic supplies are focused on anti-aging treatments that are supposed to make you look younger and healthier while reducing the appearance of wrinkles through the use of both cosmetic products and mechanical applicator tools.

Did I get on board? This explains everything:

Remember, we schedule 30 minutes for each call, so only schedule if you’re serious:

As far as direct selling companies go, this one is quite old; LR Health and Beauty Systems dates all the way back to 1985.

The company has run into some minor legal trouble in Norway when one of its products was pulled from the shelves for containing an unregistered herbal extract, Cistus incanus.

Norway’s supplement laws are much stricter than much of the rest of the world, so it’s not like LR’s product was contaminated with an actual drug.  Cistus incanus is available over the counter across the United States, for example.

The company has expanded its operations across Europe, but Germany still accounts for much of its sales.  As such, the market for LR Health and Beauty Systems in the English-speaking world is not very big.

This is reflected in search engine trends for LR Health and Beauty Systems.  While interest in the company is trending mostly flat, with a slight uptick in interest recently, the real story is in the low absolute volume of search traffic for the company.  It fares poorly compared to other network marketing competitors.

Products

LR Health and Beauty Systems makes its name with anti-aging packages like the ZEITGARD suite.  This array of products features a cleansing system, an anti-aging system, and a care and protection system.

Each of these systems features a special cosmetic product, as well as a motorized applicator that applies the treatment.  The stated goal is to provide professional-caliber skin treatment in the comfort of your home.

One product category that traverses the health and beauty divide is LR Health and Beauty Systems’ line of aloe vera products.  The company sells traditional aloe vera skin balms, which are known to be an excellent treatment for skin dryness and irritation.

A 2003 scientific experiment by Dennis P. West and Ya Fen Zhu at Northwestern University in Chicago tested the efficacy of aloe vera as a skin treatment for workers who had occupation-related skin dryness.

Aloe vera impregnated gloves were found to reduce fine skin wrinkling, dryness, and irritation to a significant degree.

In addition, LR Health and Beauty Systems also sells drinkable aloe vera for health and weight loss.  While it sounds a bit crazy, there is some interesting research behind drinking aloe vera for metabolic health.

A 2006 study by researchers in Japan that was published in the scientific journal Biological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin reported on several experiments that evaluated the biological effects of consuming aloe vera.

In rats, several biologically active compounds in aloe vera were observed causing an improvement in blood glucose control.

It’s a bit of a stretch to go from basic research in diabetic rats to downing flavored aloe vera drinks, but at least there is some plausible mechanism behind the product.

A third strategy by LR Health and Beauty Systems has been to recruit celebrities like movie star Bruce Willis and Heidi Klum to endorse their products and to put their name on product lines.

These range from beauty cosmetics to perfumes, but the name recognition alone is worth something when it comes to brand familiarity.

The success of big-time celebrity endorsed MLMs in the United States like AdvoCare is a testament to the power of celebrities.

Name recognition, and association with a trusted celebrity, makes pitching a brand’s product or compensation plan an easier sell than a company or a product that nobody’s ever heard of.

Compensation plan

The compensation plan for LR Health and Beauty Systems is unconventional as far as MLMs go.  There is no monthly sales volume that is required of you, and you earn commissions based on a sliding scale of product volume sales per month.

This ranges from 3% on the low end (250 product volume per month) to 21% if you can move 12,000 product volume per month.

Wholesale prices are not bad; distributors get 30% off retail prices and can resell at the MSRP for a profit.  This is above average for health and beauty MLMs.

The real downside of LR Health and Beauty Systems? Its operations are exclusive to Europe, so if you aren’t in one of the 28 European countries in which it operates, you’re out of luck.

If the company does ever expand to new areas, which it will if it has success, you can be that it will be a good opportunity to get in on early.

Recap

LR Health and Beauty Systems brings a fairly standard health and beauty approach to the European MLM market.

The compensation plan is reasonably attractive because it does not require an autoship or mandate that you personally stock products, and the retail discount is pretty good.  The star power that LR Health and Beauty Systems draws from its endorsements is good for brand recognition, too.

Overall, the best time to get into LR might be in the future: if you find yourself in a market in which they plan to expand, you could get in near the top of the network in that region and have access to a relatively untapped market with a brand with celebrity selling power.

If you’re set on MLM, it’s not terrible, but probably not the best, either.

If you’re doing it for the money, there are better ways to kill your day job. You might like our coaching because it shows you the good life without peddling overpriced juice to your family and friends.
